Ella Developing - News and Updates
February 10, 2002
Grandma and Grandpa Miller
are visiting. Angela is cooking Sri Lankan Curry
Chicken for dinner for the entire Miller clan (Angela,
Ben, Gary, Darlene, Ken, Christy, and Julia. Not to
mention the 4 schnauzers who did not get chicken). 9
months pregnant and she is still the ultimate
hostess. Angela, Ken, Ben, and Gary are just
settling down for a game of Hearts when Angela gets up to
fetch her glass of ice water. A few moments later
she came back to the table saying "So what does it
feel like when your water breaks?" Then our
lives changes forever . . .. Arrival

Week 35 - visit # 2:
The Doctor checked Angela on Friday, and says that she is
75% effaced and 2 cm dilated.
Week 35 - visit # 1: Quite a bit has happened since
October. "She's Huge" as our ultrasound technician
exclaimed as she looked at our latest sonograms. Our little girl is
about 6.2 pounds by their best estimates.
However, It has not been easy for Angela. She's had some NSTs
(Non Stress Tests - baby heart rate, mom's blood pressure, fetal movement,
etc) due to her high blood pressure. The doctors think that
everything is going to be fine though.
At her last checkup, Monday, we were told that Angela is 50%
effaced and 1cm dilated. The baby has dropped and is at 0 station (her head
is in Angela's pelvis)
We probably will not end up waiting until the March 1st due date to see
our little girl. Our doctor thinks that she will most likely come
early. (Our suspicion all along).
Here are some of the latest pictures.

Week 23: It's a Girl!
Today we found out that our precious little baby is a girl. The
ultrasound technician, with standard disclaimer, was extremely confidant
that our baby is a girl. Of course this will pose a challenge
because Angela HATES pink and I'll never be able to tell our adorable
little girl "no" when she asks for a pony for her 3rd
birthday. (I am practicing "Go ask your mother"
already).
We are so overjoyed that God has blessed us with such a healthy
pregnancy. The doctor says everything looks "perfect." Our
baby is a hefty 1.5 pounds today and has every bit of the attitude her
mother has i.e. She was pushing back at the ultrasound wand, as you
will see in the evidence below.
If I can get the right equipment together I'll put up the ultrasound video
too.

Our angel is already smiling for the camera. (Posing
thoughtfully with her hand on her chin) |

Another thoughtful pose. |

You can see her little hand as she pushes back at us. |

Last, but not least, the sonographic evidence that she's a
she. |

Week 21: Angela had a doctors visit to diagnose kidney
pain. As it turns out either she became the proud mother of a tiny
kidney stone, or the baby was testing out what all the plumbing was for
and pinched closed the wrong pipe. All is well though.
However, they did take a couple sneak peaks at Baby Miller after admiring at
Angela's kidneys. The picture below shows Baby Miller smiling at the
camera. S/he's looking straight at you and you can see the eyes,
nose, mouth, etc. I'm not sure if you can see a tongue sticking out
or not yet ;-).

Angela has been feeling the baby move around a
lot recently, especially after dinner. Tonight I got to feel a
little kick with my hand! It was a little popcorn pop in the palm of
my hand.

Week 18: Baby's third appointment today.
Everything is great in week 18. The heart rate is on track at
160. Baby and mom are growing slowly but surely. Mom has given up
and gone full time to maternity clothing. Next month we'll get some
new baby pictures and take a guess at the gender.

Baby's second doctor's appointment. All
is still well and at 14 weeks mom is starting to get over the
nausea. We listened to the heartbeat of our baby for the first
time. S/he's really growing up. The estimated weight is around
an ounce and s/he is probably 3-4 inches long. No pictures this
time.

The following photos were taken to
commemorate the occasion.
